New Stars4all photometer station

Posted on June 23, 2021June 23, 2021

Recently a new TESS-W photometer was installed at my observatory (stars639).

I have run a Unihedron SQM-LE for years, but a few months ago it stopped working and it was not possible to repair it.

The new TESS-W is far more interesting than the Unihedron solution.

This new device sends all collected data automatically to the servers on Stars4all via MQTT. Not only photometric data, clouds and environment temperature also, with all this info it is possible to evaluate the cloud cover (similar to Lunatico’s Solo).

All data is public and could be checked on this link (https://astro.carballada.com/tess).

The SQM data is important to evaluate how good a photographic frame taken to be integrated on a final picture.

Now, only needs a ASCOM driver and some scripts to add all this info on my own servers and frames!!
